Talis Group’s client is a well-established, full-service law firm located in the East end of Louisville. Due to an internal promotion, they are seeking a detail-oriented Bookkeeper to support the Controller with billing and Accounts Receivable, and accounting functions. This full-time, direct hire opportunity offers a salary range of $45k-$52k, plus full benefits, 401(k), and generous PTO. The hours are Monday-Friday, 8:30am–5pm, onsite.

This position is ideal for someone who enjoys working with numbers, is proficient in QuickBooks, thrives in a deadline-driven environment, and takes pride in accuracy, organization, and follow-through.

Highlighted Duties:

Assist the Controller with legal billing processes, including invoice preparation, review, and distribution.
Manage accounts receivable functions, including receiving, posting, and reconciling payments.
Enter, maintain, and reconcile transactions in QuickBooks.
Support billing and trust accounting activities within Clio software.
Maintain accurate financial records and supporting documentation.
Assist with month-end close tasks and financial reporting as needed.
Respond to billing and accounts receivable inquiries in a timely and professional manner.
Support additional accounting and administrative tasks as needed.

Highlighted Requirements:

Associate degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred.
2+ years of progressive accounting or bookkeeping experience, preferably in a law firm or professional services environment.
Strong QuickBooks proficiency required and will be assessed during interview process.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel and Word) required.
Experience with Clio or other legal billing software is a plus.
Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and accuracy.
Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise discretion when handling financial information.
