Talis Group’s client is a well-established, full-service law firm located in the East end of Louisville. Due to an internal promotion, they are seeking a detail-oriented Bookkeeper to support the Controller with billing and Accounts Receivable, and accounting functions. This full-time, direct hire opportunity offers a salary range of $45k-$52k, plus full benefits, 401(k), and generous PTO. The hours are Monday-Friday, 8:30am–5pm, onsite.
This position is ideal for someone who enjoys working with numbers, is proficient in QuickBooks, thrives in a deadline-driven environment, and takes pride in accuracy, organization, and follow-through.
Highlighted Duties:
- Assist the Controller with legal billing processes, including invoice preparation, review, and distribution.
- Manage accounts receivable functions, including receiving, posting, and reconciling payments.
- Enter, maintain, and reconcile transactions in QuickBooks.
- Support billing and trust accounting activities within Clio software.
- Maintain accurate financial records and supporting documentation.
- Assist with month-end close tasks and financial reporting as needed.
- Respond to billing and accounts receivable inquiries in a timely and professional manner.
- Support additional accounting and administrative tasks as needed.
Highlighted Requirements:
- Associate degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred.
- 2+ years of progressive accounting or bookkeeping experience, preferably in a law firm or professional services environment.
- Strong QuickBooks proficiency required and will be assessed during interview process.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel and Word) required.
- Experience with Clio or other legal billing software is a plus.
- Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and accuracy.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise discretion when handling financial information.
