Talis Group’s client is a fully integrated manufacturer of custom parts and assemblies, providing engineering, metal fabrication, and coating services to its customers. They are growing and looking for a Technical Sales Representative who can combine technical manufacturing knowledge with a strong drive for new business development.
This is an opportunity to take ownership of a territory, build relationships with key decision-makers, and help customers find the right manufacturing solutions for their needs. Travel is primarily within a 100-mile radius, with most activity focused around Indianapolis, Cincinnati, and Bowling Green.

Highlighted Duties:
- Develop new business by identifying, targeting, and converting prospective customers.
- Build relationships with engineers, purchasing teams, operations leaders, and other key decision-makers.
- Learn customers’ technical needs and partner with internal engineering and manufacturing teams to develop the right solution.
- Prepare and present proposals, quotes, and technical sales presentations.
- Use knowledge of metal fabrication, materials, machining, and manufacturing processes to consult with customers.
- Manage a regional territory with travel primarily within a 100-mile radius.
- Attend trade shows, networking events, and industry meetings to generate leads and expand the customer base.
Highlighted Requirements:
- Proven success in technical sales and/or new business development; metal sales strongly preferred.
- Mechanical aptitude and understanding of metal fabrication, machining, or related manufacturing processes.
- Ability to read blueprints, technical drawings, and specifications.
- Strong consultative selling, communication, and negotiation skills.
- Self-motivated and comfortable taking ownership of a territory and building business from the ground up.
- Willingness to travel throughout the territory.
