Supply Chain Manager – Romulus, MI (Primary), Saline, MI (Secondary)
Talis Group’s client is a premier food manufacturer. They are seeking a Supply Chain Manager – Warehousing to lead logistics operations at its new Romulus, Michigan distribution center. This position provides strategic and operational leadership for warehousing, shipping, receiving, inventory control, transportation, material handling, and distribution center activities. This role will also include oversight of a smaller warehouse in Saline, MI.
Salary: $110 – $125,000 + bonus potential & strong benefits package
HIGHLIGHTED DUTIES:
- Ensure safe, accurate, efficient, and timely movement, storage, and distribution of raw materials, packaging, supplies, and finished products.
- Lead, develop, and hold all team members accountable for performance and results.
- Manage staffing, scheduling, resources, and all operating costs.
- Establish and monitor KPIs.
- Identify root causes and implement sustainable corrective action plans.
- Maintain accurate inventory
- Oversee shipping and receiving activities
- Serve as the warehouse operations SAP/RF scanning subject matter expert.
- Ensure compliance with SQF, GMP, HACCP, FDA, MDA, OSHA, sanitation, food safety, security, and company requirements.
- Partner cross-functionally with all departments.
- Lead strategic initiatives involving facility expansions, process redesign, capacity planning, system implementations, Lean/Six Sigma, and operational improvements.
- Provide operational leadership and coverage during staffing shortages, peak periods, emergencies, and other business needs.
HIGHLIGHTED REQUIREMENTS:
- BA/BS in supply chain management, logistics, operations, business administration, or a related field required. An equivalent combination of education, training, and relevant experience may be considered.
- Warehouse start-up experience desired.
- 7+ years of progressive experience in warehousing, shipping, receiving, inventory control, distribution, or logistics, including at least three years recent management of supervisory and hourly employees.
- Experience managing multiple, multi-shift facilities, budgets, staffing, KPIs/metrics, inventory programs, audits, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Food production, or other regulated industry experience highly desired.
- ERP/WMS experience required, including RF scanning.
- Working knowledge of OSHA, powered industrial truck safety, GMP, HACCP, SQF, sanitation, food safety, and traceability requirements.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including strong Excel and PowerPoint skills.
- Lean, Six Sigma, APICS, or other relevant supply-chain certification highly desired.
- Ability to support multiple facilities and shifts and respond to operational issues outside normal working hours.
