Talis Group is partnering with a respected manufacturer to hire a Quality Engineering Manager for a highly visible, hands-on leadership role. This role is ideal for a proactive engineering professional who enjoys partnering with Operations and Engineering to improve product quality, manufacturing performance, and customer satisfaction. Your success will be measured by improving product reliability, increasing first-pass yield, reducing warranty claims, scrap and rework, and eliminating root causes through data-driven problem solving.

Highlighted Duties:
- Lead and continuously improve the Quality Management System (QMS), promoting a culture where quality is built into every product and process.
- Partner with Engineering and Manufacturing leadership to improve product reliability, manufacturability, process capability, and operational performance.
- Participate in product development, design reviews, risk assessments, validation testing, and New Product Introduction (NPI) to ensure quality is engineered into new products from concept through production.
- Lead root cause investigations involving warranty claims, customer complaints, supplier quality, manufacturing defects, and field performance using structured problem-solving tools including 8D, 5 Why, Fishbone, FMEA, A3, and CAPA.
- Analyze manufacturing, supplier, warranty, and customer quality data to identify trends, develop KPIs, and drive improvements that reduce Cost of Poor Quality (COPQ), scrap, rework, and warranty expense.
- Improve manufacturing quality through stronger process controls, inspection strategies, testing methods, error-proofing, and Lean initiatives that increase First Pass Yield (FPY) and reduce variation.
- Partner with suppliers and customers to resolve quality issues, improve supplier performance, and support field investigations when needed.
- Lead, mentor, and develop Quality Engineers, Inspectors, and Technicians while fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement throughout the organization.
Highlighted Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related technical discipline.
- Five or more years of Quality Engineering or Quality Management experience within a manufacturing environment.
- Strong knowledge of Quality Management Systems (QMS), product reliability, process improvement, and continuous improvement methodologies.
- Experience leading root cause analysis and corrective action initiatives using tools such as 8D, CAPA, FMEA, 5 Why, SPC, Lean, or Six Sigma.
- Proven ability to analyze quality data, develop KPIs, and drive measurable operational improvements.
- Strong leadership, communication, and collaboration skills with the ability to influence cross-functional teams.
- Working knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and manufacturing processes; food service equipment or similar manufacturing experience is a plus.
