Talis Group’s client is seeking a Production Manager for the Furnace Department at their chemical manufacturing plant in Louisville, KY. This role oversees daily department operations, ensuring safe, efficient production while meeting quality and regulatory standards. The Production Manager leads a team and partners with Quality, Maintenance, and Electrical to optimize processes, achieve production goals, and drive continuous improvement.

HIGHLIGHTED DUTIES:
- Oversee the overall production operations of the Electrical Arc Furnace.
- Develop and implement strategies to optimize production efficiency and reduce costs.
- Lead, develop and motivate a team of one supervisor and production workers.
- Implement and enforce safety & environmental protocols, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
- Monitor and analyze KPIs, such as production efficiency, yield, quality, and costs, and take corrective actions as needed.
- Manage the department's production budget and control expenses
- Collaborate with engineering and maintenance teams.
- Foster a culture of continuous improvement and lean manufacturing practices.
- Foster a positive work environment, promoting teamwork, employee engagement, and professional development opportunities.
- Communicate effectively with senior management.
- Complete thorough investigations into process and safety issues.
HIGHLIGHTED REQUIREMENTS
Bachelor’s degree in engineering:
- 7+ years of progressively responsible experience in manufacturing operations.
- Experience in process engineering and continuous improvement programs, such as lean manufacturing and 6S is a plus
- Strong knowledge of manufacturing processes, safety regulations, and quality standards.
- Commitment to safety, quality, and compliance standards.
- Demonstrated ability to lead teams and develop subordinates
- Detail-oriented with excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proven track record of achieving production targets, improving operational efficiency, and driving results.
- Ability to adapt to changing priorities, work under pressure, and meet tight deadlines.
