Talis Group’s client is seeking a Production Engineering Supervisor to join its team and help ensure the safe, reliable, and efficient delivery of their consumer product. This is an excellent opportunity for an engineer that may have some experience with high-capacity pumping and fluid-handling systems, process optimization, critical infrastructure and distribution systems. This position will be a hands-on and management role a meaningful impact on the community.

Working alongside an experienced engineering and operations leadership team, you’ll oversee plant operations personnel, drive process improvements, support capital projects, and help maintain the highest standards of safety, quality, and regulatory compliance. Highlighted Duties:
  • Supervise, coach, and develop operators and apprentices, promoting safe, efficient, and consistent plant operations.
  • Troubleshoot equipment malfunctions, process control issues, and production challenges; identify root causes and implement corrective actions.
  • Identify and lead process improvement initiatives and capital projects designed to improve operational efficiency, reliability, and performance.
  • Develop and maintain operating procedures, work instructions, and training programs covering equipment operation, advanced processing systems, chemical safety, and regulatory requirements.
  • Monitor product quality and production data, evaluate process performance, and recommend adjustments to maintain quality standards and optimize treatment operations.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable EPA, OSHA requirements, Process Safety Management standards, and company procedures.
  • Coordinate with engineering, maintenance, quality, and other departments to resolve equipment issues, plan maintenance activities, and minimize operational disruptions.
  • Oversee chemical inventory, purchasing, vendor coordination, and deliveries to support uninterrupted production.
  • Support contractor activities, manage assigned projects, and monitor operational performance measures.
  • Help maintain appropriate staffing and operational coverage across rotating 12-hour shifts, including occasional support for staffing shortages or emergencies outside normal business hours.

Highlighted Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Chemical, Electrical, Industrial, or Civil Engineering.
  • At least five years of experience in process engineering, production engineering, plant operations, or a related industrial environment.
  • Experience troubleshooting equipment and processes, implementing improvements, and coordinating projects.
  • Experience in utilities, chemical processing, water distribution systems or manufacturing, or another process-driven industrial environment.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to train and develop employees with varying technical backgrounds.
  • Knowledge of equipment reliability, process safety, regulatory compliance, and continuous improvement principles.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license in Kentucky or eligibility to obtain Kentucky registration preferred.
