Talis Group’s client, a well-established food manufacturer, is seeking a Manufacturing Training Specialist to lead employee training and development across a three-shift manufacturing operation. This hands-on role is ideal for someone who enjoys coaching employees, developing frontline talent, and building training programs that improve safety, quality, and performance.

As part of a collaborative HR team, you will oversee the floor training process, partner with supervisors to develop employee skills, validate job competency, and ensure consistent training standards across all shifts.

Highlighted Duties:
  • Coordinate new-hire onboarding, cross-training, retraining, and employee qualification programs.
  • Partner with supervisors to strengthen on-the-job training and employee development.
  • Observe employees performing job duties to validate competency and compliance with established procedures, food safety, quality, and safety standards.
  • Develop and reinforce training in GMPs, food safety, workplace safety, manufacturing technology, and Lean/continuous improvement.
  • Maintain training records, qualification matrices, and compliance documentation.
  • Identify gaps in work instructions and training processes; coordinate updates and improvements with department leaders.
  • Promote consistent training methods and qualification standards across all three shifts.
  • Support HR initiatives, including recruiting, onboarding, training administration, and employee development.

Highlighted Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Training and Development, Organizational Leadership, or a related field; relevant experience may substitute.
  • At least 3 years of hands-on training experience in manufacturing; food manufacturing experience preferred.
  • Experience training, coaching, or developing employees in manufacturing, warehousing, or operations.
  • Knowledge of adult learning principles and effective on-the-job training methods.
  • Strong communication, presentation, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, and the ability to learn HR and training systems.
  • Ability to build credibility with frontline employees and supervisors.
  • English proficiency required; Spanish highly desirable.
  • Willingness to obtain relevant training certifications after hire, if not already held.
  • Preferred: Experience maintaining audit-ready training records or developing work instructions.
