Talis Group’s client is an established law firm near New Albany, Indiana, that represents creditors in foreclosure matters across multiple states. They are seeking a detail-oriented Legal Assistant to join their foreclosure department. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with experience reviewing residential real estate titles, legal documents, or foreclosure files who is looking to grow their legal career.
In this role you will review title reports, prepare foreclosure complaints & supporting legal documents, maintain case files, & assist the legal team throughout the foreclosure process. The firm has an experienced paralegal team in place & is looking for someone who is organized, accurate, can read a real estate title, and draft a compliant.
This full-time, direct hire position offers an hourly pay of $20-$24 per hour, depending on experience ($41,600k-$49,920 annually), with full benefits package and paid time off. Hours are Monday-Friday, 8:30am-5pm, working onsite.
Highlighted Duties:
- Review residential real estate title reports and related legal documents.
- Prepare foreclosure complaints & supporting legal documents.
- Maintain accurate case files and update case management systems.
- Verify legal documents for accuracy and completeness before filing
- Monitor case deadlines and ensure files remain organized.
- Communicate with courts, clients, and third parties regarding case status and document requests.
- Assist the legal team with administrative & document preparation tasks as needed.
Highlighted Requirements:
- At least 1 year of experience reviewing residential real estate titles, foreclosure documents, or similar legal documentation required.
- Previous experience in a law firm, title company, mortgage servicing, or real estate environment preferred.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple files while meeting deadlines.
- Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
