Talis Group, Inc.

Inside Sales Representative

Jeffersonville, IndianaFull-time
$56,000 - $60,000 annually
About the Job
Talis Group’s client is a well-established, locally owned manufacturer in Jeffersonville, Indiana.  They are seeking an Inside Sales Representative to join a close-knit commercial team and serve as a key link between customers, quoting, order entry, production, and shipping.

This is not a cold-calling sales position. The role combines customer service, order management, quoting, technical product knowledge, and problem solving for existing customers. Because products and customer requirements can be complex, the company values curiosity, judgment, learning ability, follow-through, and communication over a traditional inside-sales background. Candidates from other professional, customer-facing backgrounds are encouraged to apply.

Training is structured and hands-on, with exposure to the manufacturing process and the people who make the products. The ideal candidate enjoys learning a business from the ground up, taking ownership, improving processes, and working in a small-company environment where not every situation has a prewritten answer. High performers can grow into broader sales, business development, or leadership opportunities.

This is a full-time, direct-hire opportunity with a salary range of $56k-$60k, with bonus potential, plus future eligibility for the company’s profit-sharing program. Benefits include health, dental and vision coverage; 401(k) match; PTO and vacation; and strong support for continued education, including tuition reimbursement.

Hours are Monday-Friday, 7:30am.-5pm, onsite, no hybrid option.

Highlighted Duties:
  • Learn customized products, customer applications, manufacturing processes, and capabilities through structured training and hands-on exposure.
  • Enter and manage customer orders accurately, including specifications, special requirements, pricing, and delivery information.
  • Prepare quotes, capture customer specifications, and help customers identify the appropriate product or solution.
  • Communicate with existing customers by phone and email regarding specifications, orders, status updates, quotes, and problem resolution.
  • Coordinate with production, shipping, and office teams to keep orders and customer commitments on track.
  • Maintain accurate customer, quote, and order information in ERP/CRM and related systems.
  • Use sound judgment to find workable solutions when situations fall outside established procedures.
  • Help develop, maintain, and improve processes, documentation, standards, and workflows.
  • Explore practical uses of AI and other emerging technology to improve learning, problem solving, communication, and productivity.

Highlighted Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s degree strongly preferred; equivalent experience and achievement will be considered.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook; ERP/CRM experience required.
  • Interest in AI and emerging technology; expertise is not required.
  • Detail-intensive B2B experience in manufacturing, distribution, estimating, project coordination, order management, customer service, or a related field is a plus.
  • Strong learning agility, critical thinking, curiosity, and ability to understand complex products and customer requirements.
  • Professional customer-facing experience; traditional inside sales experience is not required.
  • Demonstrated success in a small-business, hands-on environment with responsibilities that may cross traditional job boundaries.
  • Strong professional track record; consistent, long-term tenure strongly preferred.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Team-oriented, collaborative, adaptable, emotionally mature, and receptive to direct feedback.
  • Process-minded but flexible, with the ability to follow standards while making sound decisions when situations require judgment.
