Talis Group’s client is a non profit organization that is hiring a Director of Finance to partner closely with the President and oversee all financial operations, reporting, and internal systems of the organization. This role also works in collaboration with the Board of Directors, providing financial insight and ensuring strong fiscal stewardship. This position will be very hands-on closing the month, running reports, handling payroll but also requires strategic work to handle budgeting, financial analysis, Board reporting etc.

Highlighted Duties:
- Prepare and analyze monthly financial reports using Sage/Peachtree, Excel, and donor management systems (e.g., Raiser’s Edge).
- Manage month-end close, fixed assets, pledges receivable, accounts payable, and grant tracking.
- Oversee cash flow, including deposits, disbursements and monthly bank reconciliations.
- Track and manage restricted gifts from receipt through project completion.
- Partner with the President to develop the annual operating budget and ongoing financial forecasts.
- Lead the annual audit process and support preparation of the 990.
- Oversee financial and internal information systems.
- Administer payroll and employee benefits using ADP.
- Maintain accurate employee records and reporting.
- Prepare and present financial reports to the Finance & Audit Committee and Board of Directors.
- Provide financial analysis to support strategic decision-making.
- Support Development with donor and pledge management, reporting, and tracking.
Highlighted Requirements:
- 5+ years of progressive finance experience, including financial reporting, budgeting, and analysis.
- Experience in nonprofit finance (accounting, reporting, compliance), ideally in a mid-to-large organization.
- Hands-on, detail-oriented leader willing to engage in both strategic and operational work.
- Experience with payroll, benefits administration, and financial systems.
- Strong understanding of nonprofit accounting, including grants and donor-restricted funds.
- Familiarity with Sage/Peachtree, Raiser’s Edge, and ADP preferred.
- High level of integrity, accountability, and professionalism.
