Highlighted Duties:
- Lead all accounting and financial operations, including general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll oversight, month-end and year-end close, and financial reporting.
- Develop and maintain strong internal controls, accounting policies, and financial procedures to ensure accuracy and compliance.
- Prepare timely financial statements and reports for executive leadership, the Board Finance Committee, grantors, and funding agencies.
- Partner with the Executive Director to develop annual budgets, long-range financial plans, and organizational forecasts.
- Monitor cash flow, investments, and financial performance while providing strategic recommendations to leadership.
- Oversee nonprofit fund accounting, grant accounting, grant billing, compliance reporting, and financial reporting requirements.
- Coordinate annual audits, tax filings, and regulatory reporting while ensuring compliance.
- Lead, mentor, and develop the accounting team while promoting continuous improvement and operational excellence.
- Build strong relationships with grantors, auditors, vendors, and financial partners.
- Serve as a trusted member of the senior leadership team, helping guide the organization's continued financial strength and future growth.
Highlighted Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance required.
- CPA or MBA preferred.
- Five or more years of progressive accounting leadership experience.
- Nonprofit accounting experience preferred.
- Experience with grant accounting, fund accounting, and grant compliance strongly preferred.
- Experience preparing budgets, forecasts, financial statements, and board-level reporting.
- Knowledge of nonprofit audits and regulatory compliance.
- Strong leadership, communication, analytical, and organizational skills.
- A collaborative leadership style and genuine passion for supporting an organization that changes lives.
