Talis Group's client, a stable and growing manufacturing company between Lewisport and Tell City, Indiana, is seeking an Accounting Manager to lead its accounting and finance operations. This is a highly visible role reporting directly to company leadership and offers the opportunity to make a meaningful impact within an organization known for its family-oriented culture, supportive team environment, and exceptionally low employee turnover.

Highlighted Duties: 
  • Lead all day-to-day accounting operations, including Accounts Payable, payroll processing, general ledger activities, and financial reporting.
  • Supervise and mentor a small accounting team of two employees.
  • Manage month-end and year-end close processes, account reconciliations, and preparation of accurate financial statements.
  • Develop budgets, forecasts, and profitability analyses to support strategic decision-making.
  • Partner with company leadership to provide financial insights and recommendations.
  • Collaborate with the company's external CPA firm on audits, tax matters, and year-end reporting requirements.
  • Identify opportunities to improve processes, controls, and efficiencies within the accounting function.

Highlighted Requirements:
  • 5+ years of progressive accounting experience, preferably within manufacturing or construction environments.
  • Previous supervisory or management experience preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of GAAP, financial reporting, budgeting, and forecasting.
  • Ability to analyze financial data and translate findings into actionable business insights.
  • Hands-on leadership style with a collaborative, team-oriented approach.
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance preferred, but equivalent experience will be considered.
